SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

 
The Sustainable Development Programme which falls within the Human and Social Development Directorate is comprised of three Sub-programmes:

8.1 - Sustainable Development

8.2 - Environment

- Caribbean Hub – Capacity Building related to the Implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Countries.

8.3. Human Development

The goal of Programme 8.3 is to reduce specific challenges to the achievement of sustainable development through development of programmes aimed at mitigating human and social vulnerabilities.

Among the key results are the development of programmes and policies to strengthen regional and national response to mitigate social conditions such as HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse, Poverty, Gender Inequity, fragmented homes and communities, that threaten sustainability of development.
