ISBN
The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a unique international
identifier assigned to monographic publications. The ISBN accompanies a
publication from the time of production onwards and has revolutionized
the international book trade, since it is an essential element in the
ordering and distribution of material; stock control and, the
compilation of book trade directories.
The
ISBN Programme for the Caribbean Region which has been in operation
since 1980, is administered by the Regional ISBN Agency, Caribbean
Community Secretariat. Publishers who are Caribbean based (i.e. resident
or have an agent in the Caribbean) and who are publishing their titles
in the Caribbean, are eligible for participation.
